Dr Jennie Guise

Dr Jennie Guise has many years of experience working with children, young people and adults, and is highly qualified in the areas of psychology and education.  She is a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Scientist, and a member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).  Dr Guise is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), and a Member of the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS).  She has a PATOSS Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment Practising Certificate.

Dr Guise provides full cognitive, psychological assessments for learning difficulties.  Her approach is aimed at uncovering areas of strength.  These form the backdrop to recommendations that are designed to help with areas of weakness.  She is approachable and carries out assessments in a relaxed and caring manner.   Her principal aim is to help people to realise their potential.   Dr Guise’s assessment reports are grounded in current guidelines and educational policy.  They are practical, understandable and fully focused on the positive.

Dr Guise has an office in central Edinburgh, and is the Director and founder of Dysguise Ltd, which provides assessments throughout Scotland.  She has also worked in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi.  She was drawn towards the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre because it has a long-established and solid reputation as a high-quality provider of assessment, training and support in the area of dyslexia.  Then she found that, on top of this, the staff are great and there is tea and coffee on tap!  What more could you ask for?
