Karin Valentiner C.Psychol AFBPsS
Karin is an Educational Psychologist providing assessment services to schools in London, Berkshire and Surrey. She advises both schools and parents on a range of educational issues. Karin is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, member of the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice, and is registered to practice with the Health and Care Professions Council.
With over 18 years of experience, Karin has been employed by London Education Authorities as a teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Educational Psychologist. Since 2009 Karin has been in private practice at home in Ascot assessing children, students & adults facing challenges in learning and at work. An independent Educational and Chartered Psychologist, Karin also works in association with a group of other Educational and Clinical Psychologists on training and supervision.
Karin grew up in Denmark and moved to England as a teenager. She also lived in the United States for 10 years whilst her three children were young and she is now a parent governor at the secondary school they attend in Ascot – something they say they are not always happy about!
Karin is delighted to be working with the Helen Arkell Centre, after many years of recommending their excellent resources, parent courses and teacher training to schools and families. The mail order catalogue in particular holds a special place in Karin’s heart, as it proved the key to finding the resources her children needed when struggling with British phonics and spelling.
