Cate Baynton

Cate Baynton, BA (Hons), PGCE, Diploma OCR (SpLD), APC

Cate is an experienced specialist teacher and assessor. She carries out full diagnostic assessments across all ages, and is a tutor on the OCR Level 5 Diploma course.

Cate qualified as a History teacher in 1996 and has taught in the UK and the Far East. On returning to the UK, she worked in a school providing a first class education to children with disabilities. This sparked her interest in the world of special education, leading her to complete the Level 5 and then Level 7 courses at Helen Arkell. Cate provides assessments and advice to a range of schools and colleges in Hampshire. She also undertakes disabled student allowance assessments for students preparing to move to university, to enable them to get the support they need. She was thrilled to become part of the Helen Arkell team as she enjoys the collaborative environment where knowledge and good practice is shared.
