Eleanor Barker

Eleanor Barker, BA (Hons), PGCE, Dip OCR (SpLD), SpLD APC

Ellie Barker is an assessor at Helen Arkell. She holds a Masters degree from Cambridge University and has a PGCE in addition to the OCR Diploma in Assessing and Teaching Learners with SpLD.  

Following a first career working on international development programmes for several large UK Charities, Ellie trained and qualified as a Primary School teacher.  She taught for a number of years and became increasingly interested in how best to support learners who were struggling to acquire literacy and numeracy skills.  She retrained at HADC and has experience in assessing both primary and secondary school aged students.  Ellie also works as a Specialist Teacher at an independent prep school, supporting learners from Years 2 – 7.

Ellie is a keen tennis player and also enjoys gardening, sailing and walking.
