Gemma Cox is a tutor on the Level 5 OCR professional training course at HADC and an inspiring and committed, fully qualified specialist teacher for children with specific learning difficulties.
Prior to this, Gemma has had experience as a teaching assistant in a North London primary school, as well as coordinating volunteer schoolteachers in Mozambique and assisting them in the development and implementation of their lesson plans.
Amongst other qualifications, such as a university degree in sociology and the CELTA certificate in teaching English as a foreign language, in 2014 Gemma completed the Level 7 Diploma in assessing and teaching learners with specific learning difficulties (Dyslexia) at the Helen Arkell Centre. This has enabled her to assess children’s learning difficulties and developed her understanding of specific learning difficulties at a deeper level.
This on-going professional development has ensured that Gemma’s students really benefit academically and gain in confidence in their studies, whilst Gemma continues to find working with children a rewarding and inspiring experience.
