Hedda Fletcher

Hedda Fletcher, BSc (Hons) Dip OCR (SpLD), SpLD APC

Hedda is a Specialist Teacher and Assessor educated at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre. She has worked with children of all ages, both in a school environment and in private settings, and enjoys providing both literacy and numeracy support.

Hedda carries out Specialist Teacher Assessments for the Centre and has valuable experience in teaching English to foreign nationals with specific learning difficulties, children and adults. She stresses the importance of providing a safe and multisensory learning environment that nurtures confidence and utilises the learners’ strengths.

Hedda has a keen interest in making spelling fun and accessible to everyone and is co-author of the book Anyone Can Spell It. As English is her second language, she can fully appreciate the frustrations of those trying to make sense of the quirky and sometimes seemingly nonsensical world of English spelling.
