Kate Williams

Kate Williams, BA (Hons), Dip OCR SpLD, SpLD APC

Kate Williams works at the HADC as a Specialist Assessor as well as working independently as a specialist teacher to learners from KS1- KS3.

Kate first became involved with HADC when she enrolled on the Level 3 teaching assistants course, hoping to develop her work in this area as well as gain better understanding of how to support her son with dyslexia. The training inspired her to go on to complete Level 5 and Level 7 at HADC, giving her the qualifications to teach and assess learners with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia).  She feels privileged to have been asked to join the Helen Arkell team and to be working in such a positive environment surrounded by a wealth of expertise and range of knowledge in the field.

Kate enjoys the balance of assessing within the Centre and specialist teaching.  She feels passionate about empowering learners to reach their full potential through a better understanding of their individual strengths and areas of difficulty.  Kate finds it particularly rewarding working with children to utilise their strengths to develop specific strategies to support their learning.
