Sara Worraker

Sara Worraker, BA (Hons), PGCE, Dip OCR (SpLD), SpLD APC

Sara has many years of experience as a specialist teacher and assessor.  She carries out full diagnostic assessments in both literacy and numeracy across the age range.  Sara worked for a number of years as a SENCO and class teacher.

She has delivered in-service training for teaching assistants and teachers in dyslexia, focusing on how dyslexic children can be supported most effectively within the classroom.  Sara carried out a research project, which was credited by the Teacher Learning Academy, into effective strategies for teaching children with difficulties in maths.

Sara has written and run a number of literacy workshops for children at the Helen Arkell Centre and she has also written and delivered in-service study skills courses for children in schools.  Sara has worked as a tutor on the OCR Level 5 Certificate course, developing the teaching and assessing of many specialist teachers.

Sara believes that the assessment process should be a positive experience for the learner, which places them at the centre of a process, which will result in removing barriers to their learning and will allow them to achieve their full potential.
