Sarah Wakelin is a highly motivated specialist teacher, caring deeply about the all round well being of students as they journey through the education system.
In 1994 she started her teaching career with students who had failed their exams and were taking them for the second time. Teaching became more than academic content, rather understanding where students were at, what challenges they faced and equipping them with skills for life. She found that teaching students with learning difficulties, notably dyslexia, was like unlocking the key to success. She teaches students specific strategies in a multi-sensory way, making learning more accessible, more memorable and more enjoyable.
In 2013 she qualified as an assessor of specific learning difficulties and since 2014 she has worked for HADC both as an assessor and as a specialist teacher.
