Sam is the Business Development Manager at Helen Arkell.
Sam studied Psychology at Loughborough University and then went on to complete a Diploma in Professional Homeopathy, embarking on a career as a self-employed homeopath for twelve years. After running a child minding business for five of those years while her two children were young, Sam felt the need to branch out into different horizons.
Sam went back to college to study Level 3 Counselling Skills. This course inspired her to take the somewhat brave decision to go back to University to study a Post Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Psychological Treatment (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT) in Reading.
Sam took on a part-time role as an Administrator for the Basingstoke Counselling Service charity where she was the co-ordinator for the provision of CBT in addition to Psychodynamic counselling. In the hours Sam had to spare she also trained as a voluntary Generalist Advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau.
In November 2013 Sam came to work for Helen Arkell as an Administrator/Receptionist. The role rapidly developed in to her current role as Business Development Manager. Sam has worked enthusiastically on various marketing projects and the development of a new website.
Sam continues to study a variety of courses such as IT Skills, Business, Online Marketing, while constantly attempting to practise ‘Mindfulness’ but seems to be too busy! When she does indulge in leisure time Sam can be found walking or cycling in the Hampshire countryside or playing squash.
