Jilly's career has focused on helping people to achieve their potential and to thrive in working environments. With a degree in Physiology and a Masters in Ergonomics and Psychology, she started her career in heavy engineering, in British Steel and then Pilkington's Glass, designing jobs for people in new automated processes. She moved to BP as a systems designer and travelled extensively in the Middle East, California and in Europe her career evolving all the while as she gained experience. She then moved to Deloitte as a management consultant in London specialising in organisational development.
Following the birth of her first child, Jilly's second career started when she set up a successful Management and Leadership development company delivering courses and consulting to a range of clients. She qualified as an Executive Coach and now has a busy practice with clients in engineering, prisons and health care. She coaches and facilitates management development pro bono in the Charity sector.
Jilly was elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Helen Arkell in June 2015, after being a trustee for only a few months. Her reason for volunteering for Helen Arkell is that the organisation helped her sons and their friends to be successful in their education and working lives. So now she is giving back with the skills she has acquired throughout her working life; helping people to be self-aware and believe in themselves, achieve and be successful.
