This course is designed for professionals who work within the FE/HE sector and would like to update their diagnostic assessment and report writing skills. It would also be useful for assessors currently working with the under 16 age group, who wish to extend their skills and work into the older age ranges and provide assessment for students and adults in the workplace. The course will include a mixture of lectures, discussion and practical activities.
Level 7 qualification in assessing learners with SpLD or equivalent.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and update their skills in the following areas:
The course takes place at the Helen Arkell Centre near Farnham in Surrey. It is accredited by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) and therefore suitable for the core hours of Continued Professional Development, which will be required when renewing Assessment Practising Certificates (APC). The course is delivered by experienced assessors and tutors from the Helen Arkell Centre.
Please note: Each SASC approved CPD course is aimed at a particular age range and assessments discussed during the sessions will be age appropriate. However, please be aware that some course content will be identical, as some assessments cover a wide age range and all reports need to conform to the same APC requirements and criteria.
