Supporting Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties - September 2018

This is a very practical course for teaching assistants or anyone supporting learners with Dyslexia or Specific Learning Difficulties. The course comprises 6 three-hour sessions.

The course will take place at Helen Arkell on Friday mornings 9.30 - 12.30.

The 6 sessions are:

  14 Sept

 Overview of Dyslexia and SpLDs

  21 Sept

 Introduction to Phonological Awareness and Phonics

  28 Sept

 Learning Preferences and Multi-sensory Teaching

    5 Oct

 Reading Accuracy and Comprehension

   12 Oct

 Spelling and Writing

   19 Oct

 Numeracy

 

You will be shown lots of useful, tried and tested strategies to enable you to support learners effectively.  You will also have the opportunity to make attractive, practical resources that you will be able to use with your learners.

This course is not accredited, so there are no assignments to complete.

Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, Frensham, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 3BL

Fee

The fee for the 6 week course is £275

If you do not wish to do all 6 sessions, you can attend individual sessions at a cost of £60 per session.

You will receive a Helen Arkell Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course/session.
