Kathryn Rees

"I have studied with Helen Arkell Centre for several years and so I have seen the work they have done first hand. As a trainee teacher I am a passionate believer that all children should have the chance to learn and achieve. Sometimes children have barriers which affect their chances of learning effectively. Helen Arkell work to try and remove these barriers and support the children, their families and schools to ensure that all  children are able to achieve and gain the most from their school experience as possible." Kathryn

Kathryn completed the marathon in 5hr 33m.

Charlotte Etchells

"I'm running the London Marathon for Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre because It's a fabulous charity that means so very much.

Helen Arkell does amazing work for those with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. They have been a constant support to myself and others, making life that little bit easier when your brain just doesn't work the same as others." Charlotte

Unfortunately Charlotte tripped in a pot-hole in the first mile of the marathon. She tried valiantly to run on but after 7 miles and some advice from St John's Ambulance team she had to stop. Understandably Charlotte is extremely disappointed and is now recovering with her rather swollen ankle. We wish her all the best for a speedy recovery.

Gary Lawson

It was a great day. A bit chilly at Blackheath, but once underway pretty ideal conditions. The first half was went well, but I found getting round the Isle of Dogs really hard. Things improved on the way back to Westminster and I managed to finish just the wrong side of 4 hours, which is fine.

Sincere thanks to all of you for supporting me and helping HELEN ARKELL, who are one of the UK’s leading providers of quality dyslexia assessment, specialist tuition and teacher training. They support anyone who may need it - children, adults, parents, teachers and education professionals.

Even though the marathon is over, you can still donate via this page to support HELEN ARKELL.
