At time of writing in June 2015, we are conducting our third annual course for dyslexic Norwegian adults, here in Surrey. The course is a collaboration between the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre and Dyslexia Norway and is a 5 day residential course held in Guildford. The aim is to improve the candidates confidence in speaking and understanding English.
Previous years have resulted in astonishing progress in all aspects of ability, confidence and learning. We use as little written material as possible and adapt to the requirements of each candidate in terms of age, stage and what they wish to achieve. So far, 33 candidates have progressed through the course with positive feedback and an ongoing connection to both Dyslexia Centres. Most years we have a parent & adult child combination on the course and fully encourage ongoing communication in English once they return to their lives and homes in Norway.
The age range on the current course this June is 18 through to 78 and the progress over five days is awe-inspiring!
We look forward to our ongoing successful relationship with Dyslexia Norway and congratulate all those who have the courage and positive thinking to conquer their personal fears and proceed to success in the English language, opening up a whole world of communication opportunities.
