Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity Coronavirus Appeal
Please help support Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity through the coronavirus crisis.
We are facing a significant loss in income due to the current crisis. At the same time we are determined to continue to support children and adults with dyslexia who need our help more than ever. Please donate now to help support our efforts. Thank you.
We are appealing for your help during this time of crisis.
There’s no denying, we have been hit hard. The lockdown means that for the first time since 1971 we’ve had to close our Centre as well as our hubs.
We have also had to cancel or postpone all our fundraising events for the time being. Other events, like the London Marathon, are also affected, from which we were due to benefit.
In order to radically cut costs, we have put most of our staff onto ‘furlough leave’ and will manage our way through the coming weeks or months with a skeleton team of staff.
Despite this, we are not able to make ends meet.
Can you help us with a one-off donation?
Or a regular donation, large or small, which would qualify you to become a valued Friend of Helen Arkell?
People need our help more than ever.
Adapting to home-schooling or working at home is particularly challenging for people with dyslexia. It’s equally challenging for parents who are trying to support their dyslexic children, while isolated at home. 1 in 10 of these parents are dyslexic themselves.
Our brilliant team have risen to the challenge of carrying on providing excellent support and advice. Specialist tuition to children and adults, consultations and courses for parents, and teacher training are now all available online or by video chat.
We understand that current circumstances are difficult for everyone, but if you are in a position to help us continue our valuable work, to our 50th anniversary and beyond, we would be hugely grateful.
Thank you so much!
