We are very sad to hear about the passing of Patience Thomson, a great friend of Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity and a champion of people with dyslexia for her entire career.
Patience was a trustee at Helen Arkell from 2001 to 2012 and Chair for six of those years. She was principal of Fairley House School in London for many years and retired to found publishers Barrington Stoke with her daughter-in-law. The pioneering publisher has won many awards and specialises in super-readable, dyslexia-friendly books for children.
