This standards-based text offers accessible advice and information aimed specifically at trainee, new and inexperienced teachers on the needs of the dyslexic learner in the mainstream secondary school. It combines a picture of the ways in which schools are expected to provide overall support for dyslexic pupils with the practical ways in which the general classroom or subject teacher can facilitate support across the curriculum. Through case-studies and tasks, it builds trainees' confidence in their ability to deal with the variety of situations that can arise when dealing with Specific Learning Difficulties.
